MOUNTAINEERING SKILLS FOR CLIMBING 14ERS
SPEND A DAY LEARNING HOW TO CLIMB IN STEEP SNOW. PRACTICE MAKING SNOW ANCHORS AND SETTING UP SIMPLE ROPE SYSTEMS.
This 1-day clinic introduces participants to the climbing techniques and basic ropework necessary for moderate and steep snow objectives. Participants will practice climbing on firm snow with crampons and an ice ax, and learn how to self-arrest with the ice ax. Additionally, there will be time to practice building anchors and use simple belay and rappel techniques for snow climbing.
